Mrs. Jan Pool's Students Reunion

Since 1971 Mrs. Jan Pool has taught over 200 deaf/hard of hearing students in Hammond - Columbia School, Thomas Jefferson Elementary and Chesterton - Bailly Elementary School. She still teaches at Bailly, as she said - "I will never retire." This shows a steadfast dedication to the education of children that is rare in today's society.

She is not alone in teaching her students to reach the greatest accomplishments, various teachers, teachers aides and student teachers have stood in the same classroom and given their best. Parents have also made a difference by being an active part of their childrens' lives.
